Re: Clueless* inherited 1965 Chevelle SS

Could it be P0615? The case casting number indicates 1964 or 1965 M20 or M21. I believe if it was P0615 that would indicate June 15th. Year?

Muncie 4 Speed Transmissions

Doesn't look like the transmission would be original to this car. I would think this car was always an auto however it could have been converted. Either Dad was thinking about converting to a 4 speed some day or it may belong/came with the HF engine.

Yes it's p0615 on transmission....does this have any value by itself?

Also looked closer for numbers on mystery engine (302?) and couldn't find any so it must be rebuilt. Any other way to find out what it is?

A Muncie with a Hurst shifter is an easy sell at $500, with upside potential. A buyer will want to remove the side cover and inspect the gears while rotating the transmissions input shaft, be prepared for that. If you have any of these items bell housing, flywheel or clutch pedals I would sell them as a package at an increased price, do not separate them as it will cost you more time to sell the components individually with no added return, dollar wise.

I saw the Muncie in the classifieds yesterday. Actually wasn't a bad deal. Didn't look for the car.

Car is in the classifieds asking $29,000.00 and at that price point the ad will not generate too much interest. Someone had posted they thought a reasonable asking price was in the $16k range which is more in line with what it may sell for.

Many of the earlier responses in this thread tossed out numbers as high as $29,000 for a starting price, more than one said it should have no problem selling in the mid-$20's. Of course I doubt any of them would be willing to write a check that large.

I hope people don't knock her, she came here asking for help, then followed the advice she was given.

Re: Clueless* inherited 1965 Chevelle SS

I was under the impression it included all the parts in and around the car such as two engines, two transmissions (auto, and 4speed), etc. If it's just the car yeah I could see issues with it selling that high. Most I think were thinking it came with a lot of extra's..... I thought 22 - 26k for everything, not just the car.
