Is that asking price on par? Seems like $10k too high?

Re: 68 ss396

What scares me the most is the missing lower body trim and trim between the taillights. It’s a red flag that shoddy body work was done, especially in rust prone states. I don’t like the color, at least around here that color hints corners were cut, nor do I like the black painted rally rims or exhaust tips. The shifter handle doesn’t look right, it seems too upright, the boot is missing too, so is the radio and the steering wheel is cracked. Add on top that the transmission grinds and likely needs a rebuild. Where are the pictures of the engine? This car practically screams, run away.

Even $27,000 is overly generous.

Re: 68 ss396

The pictures are terrible. The seller doesn't even take the time to clean up the car before taking the photos, and as stated above the trans issue, missing body trim are also factors. There is absolutely no "wow factor" to this car. Low 20's if that, max.

I've spent most of my money on women and guns. The rest I just wasted...

Hes dreaming at that price. Unless the rubber band holding up the parking brake isnt dry rotted, and comes with extras

Yeah, that price is absurd for the condition of this '68. Hell, it might be $20k over what it should bring.

Kind of what I thought. With the seller that high to start, it's not even worth looking at.

Re: 68 ss396

Think too many think everything old must be worth a fortune;its an old SS street car which isnt bad but the whole "rare" cause Jimmy P sat in the pass seat on July2nd bit means zip to me.
Could be made nice, they dont all need to be stock restos with stamps but it strikes me as a car that, once you start digging into it will become a frame off.
