Re: 68 4 speed

Not a whole lot. I guess would require a look see. How much is there, and how much is missing? I hate when guys don't give a clue what kind of money they're thinking. If he said something like 3000, I'd look. If he said 10,000, I'd ignore it.

If as represented, $6-8K. I’d rather be at 5 and can’t get to 10.

Re: 68 4 speed

I totally understand the guys position. he's just looking to trade up. As most of us know selling a non running car like that is going to be a headache with all the low ballers wanting it for $1500 or less. even if he got 5000 bucks, finding something decent in that price range might get him a honda accord. Advertise it as trade only, someone probably has a running late 60s truck, or something they wouldn't sell for 5000 bucks but would trade it for a 68 chevelle. Ive gotten cool trades, that I wouldn't have been able to buy. jim

Re: 68 4 speed

Looks like it is missing a lot of parts. Engine is bad. Car is in primer so cant tell how bad it is. Im thinking $3K-$4K.

Re: 68 4 speed

bill, I traded a 2 sets of heads i had $80 in them, traded it for the back half of a 67 el camimo frame with a 69 KK code 4.10 posi 12 bolt, ladder bars, 12 bolt upper control arms and frame braces. sold the ladder bars for 75 bucks, used the upper arms and frame braces. Traded the rear for a pair of brand new bbc edlebrock RPM heads.
traded a 200 dollar atc70 for a mint 1971 trail 70, a clean $125 winchester 30-30 for a nice AK47.
I perfer trading. been doing it for years. Did a few bone headed trades too. Like a 70 gtx project for a amp and cassette deck. jim.
I did luck into the 66, it was $1500 because the seller doesn't do chevies, doesn't do anything after 56, and didn't have a dime in it.

Re: 68 4 speed

I am gonna go look at it sunday, was considering offering him the malibu for it, if he truly has all the parts. Also wanna see how good the body is on close inspection. other wise might offer a cash deal if it is not worth what I have in the malibu.

Re: 68 4 speed

It looks like it’s missing a lot of interior parts as well as some exterior trim or hardware. Make sure you know how much it will cost to purchase the missing pieces. A few years ago a friend needed a rear seat for his 67 Chevelle, it ultimately cost him $500 for a core that needed upholstery.

Re: 68 4 speed

68&9 rear seats are all their own, same with int. & ext. trim and lots of 68 only stuff, in '11 I pd $2,600 for a 68 that looked a lot like this one but had no engine or trans, it had been a 307 PG malibu, I'm well over $30K in it but some was body shop BS, lot of after market parts fit (or don't fit) these cars worth a crap IMHO

Well....he says the interior is out of the car...didn't say no interior. Text the guy and see what he says and then maybe go for a road trip. Like a box of chocolate, ya never know tell you take a looky see.

car is local to me, it rained today so I did not get a chance to look at it plus being a holiday weekend plans and all made it a no go. I did text him about it, he responded quick will look at it this week as he has time.
