Re: I think it's a fake

looks like a real SS. Has quite a few L78 specific items but also has a CE engine. Some items were added to make it appear oem, such as the incorrect shifter, which leads me to question the entire car. It doesn't matter the mileage claims, it's a friggin roach that would require virtually every panel replaced....but "just replace the floor pans and get it going? .right.

Re: I think it's a fake

If it only has 8,000 miles on it why is it all dented up and missing pieces? What is all the stuff stuffed inside it? Where are the SS wheels that it came with? Something just does not add up here. For only 8,000 mile a lot has happened to it.

Typical 100,000 odometer turn over. It's most likely 108,000.

Sure is. That kills the L-78 angle.

Original rolled exhaust tips are worth $1K if they can be saved.

Re: I think it's a fake

Good catch on the AC dash, it has a block0ff plate over the opening and the control head is AC. Another good eye on the rolled tips, but those weren't normally, if ever, found on a 3c car. It's a car that is being misrepresented for sure, but to what extent?

Re: I think it's a fake

CE engine with parts of it laying all over the place? I could see a parent buying the car for a kid. Kid blows up engine, gets warranty replacement and blows that one up. Dad says enough is enough and parks it. But I doubt it. Smells like a scam.

Re: I think it's a fake

Seeing the depth of rust around the trim tag, even the cowl needs replacement. And that's the top, the bottom of the cowl must be gone. I'd imagine the frame is in bad shape also. What's reusable??

With a questionable history and CE engine, this one may not be wort a full restoration.

Re: I think it's a fake

Owner said he would just clean the interior and drive it. What a joke. Maybe 30 years ago.
I have to agree this car may not be worth saving. Doesnt make sense when one could start with a much better car if there is no personal attachment.
