Re: Obvious scam??

Craigslist now charge for auto listings, that is why you find auto's for sale in other categories.

Re: Obvious scam??

They watch pretty closely for cars in non-car category and boot them immediately.

Re: Obvious scam??

So what's the scam?

You advertise a car in CL for thousands less than the market price. You get hundreds of people interested in the bogus price. Now what?

Re: Obvious scam??

You probably see if you can get someone to wire you some money, either for the purchase price or to hold the car.

I do this all the time in reverse. I work the people who eamail and say they’ll mail a check and can they’ll have a shipper come pick up the item. I tell them overnight me check. I really, really need the money.
The scam is that they email again and said a mistake was made and the check was for to much. I should keep an extra hundred and wire them the rest.
Once I get the FedEx envelope with the check I email them back clearly identifying what part of my body they can apply oral vacuum to and I add their check to my wall.
Just sort of a side hobby I guess....
