Re: 66 2 door wagon?

Don't know why they have to BS people in the ad. None were made by GM. Several exist by combining an El Camino with a wagon. They look great.

Odds are this is one one several '66 and '67s built by Ken M. from Wisconsin.

Yep, zero built is definitely less than 900. Seller at least got that one right.

While some were made by people combining an El Camino with a wagon, I think most were made combining 64/65 2-door wagons with a '66 wagon.

Personally, I don't understand why more people don't use the El Camino door frame/B-pillar, as IMO, it has that graceful curve like a '55-'57 Nomad. Almost every one I have seen, all has the angled window frame on the door.

Re: 66 2 door wagon?

I would of made that a sedan delivery. With the 68-72 el Camino frame, that car would of been super solid. That is a very nice car and I would like to have it!

This one is a beauty! Would love to see one of his '67s also.

That would be very interesting also. I'm a 2-door wagon nut with a '57 Chevy Handyman and '57 Sedan Delivery. Would be a real challenge to create the one-piece rear door hinged at the top, as all Chevy deliveries were from the factory.

I am also into deliverys…I don't see how the rear door could be anything but a swing to the side door.. The Handyman is my favorite.. But the 69 el Camino I have now is a dream since I swapped a modern suspension from SC&C and Lee into it..

I didn't know this. What a tragedy to destroy a 64-65 2 door wagon.

Re: 66 2 door wagon?

It’s a cool car, being sold by a clown. “As usual, sold to the highest offer”, admits GM records indicate none were made so he makes up his own numbers. I’m sure he’d be a pleasure to deal with, especially when you start asking about the cars history and for any evidence that it was factory built.

Re: 66 2 door wagon?

Here is a station wagon for sale and if you look at the door frames it looks like the builder of the 2 door wagon combined both door frames to give the door a slight rake so it looks "right"

Purchase used 1966 chevelle station wagon malibu SS 396 clone hot rod stationwagon 300 in San Francisco, California, United States

There is no way the 2 dr wagon here is using a stock 4 door front door as its too square to match the 2 dr wagon's doorframe.BTW that is a pretty good looking custom 2 dr. but it seems a waste to me using 2 good cars to make one, unless one or both of the donor cars he used were wrecks.
The 2 dr. wagon ad sounds like he's looking to make a killing on the deal so I doubt it would be great deal for anyone buying it now.

No good pictures of the door jambs, looks like a nice car though.
