Question 68 Nomad with 307, clean CA car.

Visited a long time friend to pick up a "Not at all a Chevelle" he gave me.
Surprised to find he has a '68 Nomad, 4-door with 307, clean CA car.
Nor sure what it's worth or if anyone would be interested.

I can get more details and pics if there is interest.
Car is in Sunnyvale CA.
I should have taken a closer look but it was going to be a very long drive home to Nevada so I cut my time as short as possible.
Over eleven hours with CA's new toll road construction going on.

At these gas prices I want it 100+ octane, leaded, and my windshield washed!

My wagon is a 70 Nomad. The Nomad is at the bottom of the wagon line. Rubber matts, no carpet. Plastic door panels. I like mine for a cruiser, Due to the fact they are stripped down and do not have a lot of Stuff. Why did I buy this Nomad? It has Factory A/C & P.D. Brakes (perfect stuff for a hot/rod)
Its kinda like a 1955--150 Sta. Wgn.

Yep, four-door wagon.
Probably somewhat "Rare" as when I was younger wagons were the first to be used as parts cars.

I will ask Peter to send some pics and details.
I did not walk around the whole car, it's white or close to white.
Passenger side I looked at was very strait.
Being in San Jose/Sunnyvale it needs rescuing before the low-rider's get their hands on it.
Sad to hear the former dream-car Nomad become the cheapo model.

At these gas prices I want it 100+ octane, leaded, and my windshield washed!

Re: 68 Nomad with 307, clean CA car.

Owner says it is a Powerglide car.
He has all the parts to get it running and does intend to sell it.
Still waiting for him to send pics.
So, some idea of value in running unrestored condition might motivate him to get around to it sooner.

Re: 68 Nomad with 307, clean CA car.

Reply from the owner, " I got a gut feeling mine is worth about $3000, I am going to get it running and replace all the hydraulics, already bought the parts.
Body is straight, a little rot/rust on outer body behind the R/F tire and some deep rust in the spare tire compartment behind the R/R fender.
Nomad is base model with rubber mats.
Only options are automatic Powerglide and power steering and power window for the back.
Car was about $3000 new back in 68. We put about 120K miles on it".

So it's a one family from new "Survivor" CA car that has not been wrecked.
Not advertised for sale anywhere but the post here so our members have first crack at it.
Peter has a lot of project cars, so if anyone wants to make an offer near his estimated price as it is, I expect he would take it.

He will send me pics eventually.

Tom Terrific or Terrible Tom, depending on the phase of the moon, passing cosmic rays or other factors not fully understood except by my wife.
