Really Clean 74 Spirit of America Nova

Check out this Nova, what do you think ? .

https://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/...940705509.html

This looks like one of those builds with the Bi-Centenial coming in 1976 that a bunch of the car company's started putting out.
This one is clean, although it seems a little over-priced to me but not by that much. It's also loaded as far as Nova's are concerned. It's not a hot rod but it looks like a survivor ?
If you bught it you could save yourself some work around the holidays so instead of putting up the flag you could just park the Nova in front of the house.
EDIT forget about that survivor too much work has been done for that deal to apply.

Definitely a unique car... but I’m struggling with “is it cheesy?” I also agree it’s way overpriced

First time I hear of that version!…I find it nice but like "72 soft-top" said, it's overpriced.
It reminds me of some vehicles GM made for the 1976 Olympic games held in Montreal… There were "Olympic Edition" Chevelles, LeMans and even pickup trucks!

I would drive the $h!t out of the nova. I like the vehicles that Claude posted as well. Never even knew about the Olympic themed cars. Terry

Re: Really Clean 74 Spirit of America Nova

I bought one about 15 years ago for $200, running but rusted out. I thought about restoring it but really they have a cult following not a wide swath of fans. Owned it for quite a few years, sold the 350 out of it for $500, tried to part out the rest but really found no one who wanted / needed pieces. Pretty sure my dad took it to the junkyard.

Much better than the vega's, pacer's, pinto's, Luv's, mustang's, etc Just to name a few.
Seems that most everything was junk in the late 70's into the 80's
The SOA Nova was pretty cool back then.
Very few of them on the road, even back then.

It’s nice, but very niche. For the asking price, I’d buy something else.

Re: Really Clean 74 Spirit of America Nova

I remember the Spirit Of America Novas from when we would drive to Florida for March break in the mid-70s. The way I look at them is they were debaged & painted the same as an SS (black window frames & mirrors, grille, debadged hood, fenders & trunk (SoA decals rather than SS)). I haven't seen a decent one in decades (I would sorta like a '74 SoA Impala).

It is interesting Claude posted those Canadian 1976 Olympic Editions. I remember Sportvans, Pickups, Chevelles, LeMans, plus Mustang II & Pinto for the opposing F-team.

Ouch! I have had a lot of LUV's over the years. Just parted with my last 2 recently, due to health issues. ..

Re: Really Clean 74 Spirit of America Nova

From that particular era about the only thing I really like are the Cosworth Vegas. At least they are a real attempt at something special, not just a paint job.

That Nova is a pretty little car, but I'm pretty sure he'll never get that price for it.
