Opinions on build sheet

I have a 70 ss 454 car,
the car has a numbers matching engine, non original transmission (auto)
Couple of weeks ago I found the build sheet
It was in terrible condition (Arlington car)
I have attached pics of the build sheet before and after I got it cleaned up
Unfortunately the parts of the build sheet that would definatly tie it to the car were gone
My thoughts are to go to NCRS and see if I can get the shipping records to the car whick should tie it to the dealer on the build sheet
Do you guys think I have added value to the car with this build sheet
Also I will note
Everything you can read on the build sheet is on the car with the exception of the door edge guards
Thanks for your input

Re: Opinions on build sheet

Nice find.

It evidence, but as you know, it’s not proof since the VIN doesn’t appear. It won’t hurt and will likely help, especially with certain buyers.

Thanks guy's
Thinking it through I can only find what is there,I will try to get confirmation the care went to jack Williams Chevrolet

Also ,it would be pretty tough for someone to get a Arlington build sheet in obviously original condition that matches everything on the car including engine and color

Re: Opinions on build sheet

I wouldn't be surprised if there were more build sheets in that Arlington car. I think Arlington holds the record for number of build sheets found in a car.

Front A pillars, bottom rear seat, passenger side under the carpet, drivers side tar paper under carpet, head liner, gas tank, Probably missing some others but I'll throw in glued to the inside of the door panels just for kicks.

NCRS will give you more proof if you can't find any others.

Where did you find that one? Rear seat?

Acrysol is the answer if you find one in the tar paper. Put the build sheet on a small cookie tray submerged in Acrysol. It will liquefy the Tar and not hurt the print on the sheet.

This one was between the tar paper and the carpet
I have checked the a pillars
Also checked the seats but they have been recovered
I did have to use acrysol to clean up what I have
Thanks for the tips

Life is too short for caring about every bodies else's stuff

Re: Opinions on build sheet

It would help if you add a personal sworn statement about the date, time and how you discovered it.

Mencken: “The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.”

Well I have sent off to NCRS for the shipping info on the car
I will put that paperwork with the build sheet (original copy framed and put in a safe place)

I guess it would be good to do a sworn statement and I will
I have a lady at work who is a notary and I can have her do that but here is my thoughts
1st,this car isn't going any where while I'm alive,I got rid of 2 and regretted it since then
I would like to get all documentation as best in line as I can in the event something should happen to me my wife or kids don't have to worry about it
It was a investment and I want to protect it and make it as easy for my family at some point in the future

Thank you all for your input

Re: Opinions on build sheet

get a magnifying glass and see if you can get the vin /sequence number out of the tar.build sheet could belong to any car that shift. If you have a pop or verified numbers matching driveline then this makes a good souvenier.Good luck.

1970 ls-5 numbers matching
