First thing I noticed was the drivers door panel. If he was OK with that on his car after doing all thats involved, that shows me he didnt put must effort into things not showing, such as rust removal, proper painting prep, etc. New paint jobs are the cars that need super intense inspection. Might be a time bomb underneath. Maybe not, but be aware . If possible take a bodyman with you that knows his chit.

Its not so much that...look at the door handle, the lack of vacuuming, the seats don't look like seats for a hardtop Chevelle. When you cant center a door handle to make it presentable...makes you wonder what else.
ALL the door panels are messed up, he may have bought unfinished ones and tried to add the upper metal section to unfinished ones and did a very poor job, is the wind lace installed, moisture guards under the door panels? Did the window regulator get new rollers or are the old broken ones still there?
Makes me wonder if he took the time to hook up all the electrics, gauges, lights etc.
What clown or pro built the engine? Shroud?
How's the transmission? Rebuilt or ? How are the teeth?
What's under the trunk mat?
You could probably find an unrestored SS for 25k and do it how you want too...
