Replacing seat covers cost.

What is a fair price to expect to pay to have someone remove my existing stock covers and install new TMI pads and covers? Front buckets and rear seat.

Re: Replacing seat covers cost.

$1500-1800 here in MN, buckets and rear seat, barring any damage to frames and springs, with customer supplying foam and covers. Price varies in different areas of the country; big city or rural.

Last summer we restored a set of buckets with headrests and rear seat, plus front center armrest, for a '69 Charger. Cost to customer was $2200, he supplied all materials (Legendary) plus there was some spring repair needed.

Thanks Augy...I guess the price quoted to me was really good. Guy about a mile from me has a little shop and does REALLY nice work. He is the friend of a friend so giving me a little discount . Plus he has a red and black chevelle on his business card, so that is a good sign

Absolutely Steve, Although it will be a while, I am already lining this up as my winter project. Going to do the matching door panels as well. The guy doing my sets is also going to help me do a custom trunk enclosure. custom trunk enclosure.

Re: Replacing seat covers cost.

I just paid $600 about a year ago so we are all in line. $1500 to $1800 to install covers and pads is highway robbery unless they are supplying the foam and covers for you

Seems like a lot to me, but pricing on things is relative. Gas here is 2.35, Californians are paying over 4.00, a pack of cigarettes is over 10.00 in New York, but 4.00 in Missouri. The per gallon price of a movie theater coke is 30.00, and the per gallon price of a latte is 32.00.
Sounds like highway robbery to me on these items, but how may of you go to the movies or stop at Starbucks without a second thought? Needs vs wants...

If you are willing to take the time, the pros here like Augy and Ben are willing to help you do a great job on your own seats. I've covered a set or two over the years, and its a measure twice, cut once job for sure, but its doable. I've even done headliners and vinyl tops with the info available here on TC.

If I can't afford the buy in on something, I just walk away, and not criticize the provider..

Re: Replacing seat covers cost.

Front bench and rear seats are real easy to do. The buckets are a little more time consuming.
