68 Carolina Blue COPO ? with doc's

Seen this 68 on ebay special order paint and doc's. Has this car been talked about on TC before and does anyone know this car.

re: 68 Carolina Blue COPO ? with doc's

I am confused...This is being called a COPO car, but I don't see anything different, or unique on this car. While it may have been 'special ordered', remember that probably 50% of the cars were ordered from a dealer since package orders weren't as common as they are today. You used to have to order a car id you wanted to have a dome light, heater and even carpeting....

I've special ordered plenty of cars, but none were considered a COPO car...

While COPO sounds cool and all, it doesn't apply here.

It's a nicely restored car but the color kills it and 68's didn't have the exhaust with chrome tips on them. 68 exhausts ran to just before the back bumper with a turndown towards the corner of the fender and bumper.

Maybe somebody thinks special paint color means COPO.

COPO = higher resale value.

Maybe they changed the color name but when Chevelles were painted that color blue it was normally called Carolina Blue.

Dean, I think Ebay is getting trickier. They used to say the auction you were looking for has ended but here is something similar. Now it just says check out these similar items. You have no idea that your not looking at the original link. The 68 Carolina blue Chevelle looks good.

Having never before seen that color on a '68, I kinda like it. Looks good with the SS wheels and white-letter tires....

When I works, I works hard.
When I sits, I sits loose.
When I thinks, I falls asleep.

I like that color. Pretty cool looking.. Having said that, it isn't worth any more than any other one of the same condition to me.

To the OP Bob, please help clear up at least my confusion. Your title leads me to believe that the listing you were showing us was a 68 copo Pontiac that was alpine blue. Is that not correct?
