Hereís another possibility

This one is a little closer to home than the white car. The white stripes kill it for me but still may be worth a drive into the city to look. Hell, itís a big block/4 speed car.

If everything checks out, it may be out of my price range.

Look real close. That black undercoating looks like its hiding a lot of surprises.

Agreed, bummer on the stripes and I would drop the rear end also. Stinkbug look went out years ago. Good looking car though, I think it will finish around 20K

Jeez that's a nice looking car. I'm amazed it's that price.

I also noticed that. Iím not really concerned with the small details that make the car ďcorrectĒ. I just donít want major problems. Iím fairly handy and mechanically apt, just donít want a project. All I know about these cars, Iíve learned from these forums and personal communication with some of the members.

Itís not overly ďstinkbuggyĒ. The front is a little high as well. Kind of a faux gasser.

Re: Hereís another possibility

I think they just bought the wrong springs in the front which is pretty easy to do. Stock springs jack up the front pretty high. 1 inch drop springs seem to be about right.

I like the look. Its refreshing to see something other than 17"-20" wheels.

Seats are missing the buttons. I personally don't like the stripes on a 68, my opinion though. Not too bad.....

Those stripes are all but a deal killer to me. If the price was right, I could live with them. Iíd use them as a bargaining chip, if anything. The white car I posted here: https://www.chevelles.com/forums/60-...ing-%9168.html is looking better, even though Ermine White is on my least favorite Chevelle colors list. Itís broken up nicely with the black vinyl top. Those stripes do not belong on that car. Maybe theyíre just vinyl stickers. I need to find the time to go and look at both cars.

Re: Hereís another possibility

I agree on the Z28 stripes not belonging on a 68-9 Chevelle, the trim looks really nice from what I can see and I've had a hard time trying to find eyebrow moldings in the after market, this car might have very nice oem moldings? IMO that makes these cars worth a little more but I do agree with the black bomb paint/undercoating hiding things too, I like the car though

Tough call. I like them both, but I'm a 68 guy. I'd probably go with the white one based on paint, blue based on engine. Seriously you should look at both of them though. You may find a deal breaker on one.

Re: Hereís another possibility

Here is one. A true SS but an auto. Better looking than either the white car or this one with the stripes.

That is a beautiful car. Butternut Yellow is my favorite color from í68. Hell of a deal too. I may have to ask someone from out that way take a look at it for me. No hurry, though. I have some time today to look at one of the cars close to me.
