Chevelle ls3 non ss

Hi!
I bought a 1971 Chevelle BB402, TH400 and 12 bolt rear end. I bought it to do a ls swap but I found out that the drive line is the original from the factory, so l just cant do the swap, its only original once
It was ordered with ss gauges, buckets but not the ss emblems, its built in Canada so l ordered the paper work.

The Chevelle had a frame of in 2001 but could have a repaint to be really nice, it also have bullet mirrors on both sides and cowl induction hood with flapper.

Is it a rare Chevelle?
and what would be a fare price?

It is rare, but price will depend on condition and the health of your local market. Do you have any pictures?

Added by a previous owner. It could have gage package and the D88 sport strips, even on a flat hood, since neither one is SS specific. But not the CI hood, nor domed hood. What's the VIN code - Does it have any emblems? Maybe it is a Heavy Chevy. It would then have the domed hood, but not the CI hood. Show the docs.

Re: Chevelle ls3 non ss

I found documents in the car from "vintage vehicle service" and George Zapora, contacted them but they dont confirm old records so I ordered new paper work in my name with the VIN number and old titles, they still have the data aviable in Canada.

The engine number match the number on the paper work, and the trans has the vin number on the side.
It also has the U/14, D88, M/40, 706 and ls3 but not the Z/15 code
It was 6293 1971 chevelles manufactured in Canada, 91 with Ls3 and M/40, 59 with the U/14 but not the Z/15 code.

I havent looked for a build sheet yet.

So what can be a fare price in the States? Then I can get an idea of the value here in sweden, Could it be something for a collector in the States?
All I wanted to do was a Ls swap

Re: Chevelle ls3 non ss

Id possible Id do an LS swap on another car. It looks like someone found a factory big block Malibu and cloned it into an SS. If there isnt any rust or shoddy repairs Id figure low to mid-20s US.

Re: Chevelle ls3 non ss

It's a rare car, not many people would opt for a big block without just buying the SS. Remember however that rarity does not equal value in all cases. You could start here, Hagerty Valuation Tools, but then you need to consider it is a factory correct big block car, and remember that they only price 1 - 4 condition on a 1 - 6 scale. And THEN consider that you're in Northern Europe and their numbers are for North America.

71 Chevelle
LM7 5.3l genIII 295hp / Th-350 / Quick Performance 9 inch housing, Ford 3.55:1 Traction - Lok, Moser Axles, Gm Disc / Drum brakes.

LS & 9 inch Swap complete!!!

Re: Chevelle ls3 non ss

Thanks everyone, I maybe should do the swap and keep the original engine and trans stored. I have already saved parts to do the swap and rebuild the suspension to PRO tour it.
