Pensacola saying hello

Hello to all from the sunshine state(not so sunny at the moment) Been lurking, took the plunge. No Chevelle at the house right now but looking hard. Closest thing I have is a 66 Buick Special(Skylark) and most of what you guys do will work on it too. Currently gathering parts for a 5.3 swap with a single 76mm hair dryer on it for my wife to play with. You guys are a wealth of knowledge and at some point I'm going to sell my Camaro and my Dart to buy a good 65 Chevelle so sellers beware!!

Welcome Bill. While I am currently in VA, I will be moving back to Navarre next year. Good luck with the car search.

Welcome Bill, to Team Chevelle.....

When we vacation at Orange Beach, we ALWAYS make a stop at Joe Patti Seafood Company in Pensacola for fresh seafood.....

When I works, I works hard.
When I sits, I sits loose.
When I thinks, I falls asleep.

I'd love to see some pictures of the Special. That was the first car my dad bought new. The first car I ever drove (only in the driveway). His was a 225 V6 3sp manual column.

the old special is a pretty solid car. Just a little rust around the back window and the chevelle tulip panel will take car of that. Still has the original 300v8 with a two-speed switch pitch trans.

Ed, I was over your way last weekend on Saturday for the Cars and Coffee gathering at BPS. Didn't see much in the way of old stuff there though. Typical C&C event I guess. I drove my 70 Camaro over for that one.

Thanks for the picture.
There was a 66 Special on Craigslist out west I think that had a V6, 3sp, that I would have loved to bought if I had a place for it.

yeah and I'd love to go but I have to do my last annual tour/summer camp for my AF Reserve unit out of Biloxi. I'm retiring from the military after 35 years(active duty and reserve) so this will be a little bittersweet for me. On the plus side, I'll have more weekends to spend doing car stuff!
