New guy with a 67 SS

I've been lurking for the last few months - so now I might as well step forward. I recently bought a 67 SS black, red interior bucket, seat 4sp car out of Missouri. I probably made a emotional purchase when I recently sold my 65 mustang and was looking for another car. Looked at an ad on Saturday afternoon and then by Thursday afternoon it was in my garage - a 1000 mile trip on not more than 1/2 dozen pics lol. I thought was smart - hmmmm. It's a good car.

I've been tinkering with cars all my life - all kinds of muscle cars. My first car was a 67 chevelle - 283/turbo 400 headers with air shocks back all jacked up with hush thrush mufflers in 1979 when I was 19 - hell what were we thinking? What we thought was cool back then..lol.

I'm from Hamburg NY (near Buffalo) and my name is Dean. It's a Chevy town with the Tonawanda plant down the road that is still churning out engines.

I know this thread would be worthless with out pics - so I'll see if I can do it. I'm sure I'll have a few questions down the road as I get into making some changes to the car - but you guys seem like a good bunch guys that are willing to answer some questions time to time from a newbie!

Welcome to the site Dean. Nice looking ride. Have always been partial to '66's and '67's.

I've spent most of my money on women and guns. The rest I just wasted...

Welcome Dean! Great looking car....where in Missouri did you get the car?...just curious, as I lived in Rolla while in college (near the old Route 66)! I'd be interested in learning more about the car once you get settled in. '67's rule!!!

Re: New guy with a 67 SS

Thanks guys for the warm welcome! -

I got the car out of Diamond Missouri - but I believe it was delivered to Lawtons, Oklahoma and the car spent time in Denton, Texas - ordered by a soldier in the Army - I've got a bunch of paperwork with it and if anyone is interested I could post it up later on.,

Thanks,
Dean

Welcome aboard Dean - glad to have another Chevelle in our neck of the woods!

Great looking '67 and I too love the color combo. What kinda changes are you thinking about doing?

Welcome Dean, to Team Chevelle......

When I works, I works hard.
When I sits, I sits loose.
When I thinks, I falls asleep.

Hey David - I going to do a few updates like install gauges (has aftermarket now) and change out the bezels and interior trim (I didn't realize I'm going to have to pull the whole dash out) and some painting to freshen it up.. These cars are really never "done" are they? lol.

I'm trying resist the temptation to raise the front and back (like yours) this what I remember seeing back in the day, I love that look!

Thanks again guys feels good to hear a warm welcome in these crazy days!
