Hello

Hello, I just joined. I bought a somewhat rough 1969 Chevelle Malibu a couple months ago. Halfway back to having it driving again but it needs a lot of work yet; brakes don't work, headlights don't work, can hardly read the gauges. Engine ran rough but I've pretty much got that fixed. Front suspension was shot but I'm halfway done with replacing that. Would be done except I stripped the threads on a new upper control arm shaft before reaching the specified torque. Anyway, glad to be aboard and I'm hoping I can find solutions to the problems I'm sure to face.

Welcome Cameron, to Team Chevelle.....

When I works, I works hard.
When I sits, I sits loose.
When I thinks, I falls asleep.

Re: Hello

Welcome to Team Chevelle Cameron, I'd be calling the mfg. of or place you bought the upper shaft to have it replaced and ask why it stripped?

Re: Hello

Thanks everyone for the welcome.

Pioneer, sorry for the delay, the last few days have been pretty hectic. Grandmother fell and banged herself up pretty good. Anyway, I'm in Marion, AR, just across the Mississippi from Memphis, TN. My Chevelle is a 1969 Malibu, originally frost green but has a poor metallic blue paint job and was left outside. It was originally a 307 with powerglide transmission but has had a 350 crate motor and TH-350 transmission installed. I plan to eventually replace it with a 427 and fix the car up as more or less a COPO clone.

Shovelrick, just got the replacement in yesterday. I'm hoping to have it installed this weekend, waiting for the appropriate tools to arrive so as not to destroy the new ball joints taking it back apart. As for why it stripped, I'm chalking it up to my luck. Without bad luck I'd have none at all.
