First, thanks for adding me to the forum.
I just purchased a '66 Chevelle project out of a barn a few weeks back and am starting the tear-down. I always wanted a '66, but never really came across one. I purchased the car from an estate sale that I went to up in northern MN. I actually went to look at a '56 Post that I wanted to build as a nostalgia racer for some races we have up here a couple times a year, in addition to being a stout street car.
The '56 ended up being way worse than what I expected, and asked if he had any other cars he was selling, and he took me to another property where he had a running '66 Chevelle originally from SC. We went and looked and loaded it up. Price was right, it runs and drives with rebuilt suspension, new brakes, and a disk brake conversion, body is straight.
Even though it is a 300 deluxe, it should be a good basis for a street/strip build, and above all, fun.
Looking forward to picking your brains on issues and getting to know everyone.
