Hello everyone!! My name is Adam. Yal are gonna hate me for this, but I have always been a Ford guy and love Mustangs, but always wanted a Chevelle. After having several vintage Mustangs, I decided to start the hunt for a 70 Chevelle. I found one hiding up in Charlotte for around the price I was looking for. I wanted something that looks good, sounds good, drives good, and generally looks the part. I didn't want a beater that required years of work, nor did I want a pristine showcar. I wanted something that I could drive to work, around town, the occasionally cruise-in, and just flat out enjoy! I found that!
1970 Chevelle SS (no build sheet however)
454 (rebuilt)
M21 (rebuilt)
12 bolt
3.31
AC/PS/PB
Black/black
I'm not an expert on Chevelle stuff specifically, and I hope to gain knowledge on this forum through you guys. I know my way around a Mustang, and vintage cars in general, but want to learn Chevelle speak. I'll get some pics this week and throw them up here.
Thanks again fellas, and look forward to the learning!
Welcome! And no hate here - I've got a house full of Fords (including my wife's 1965 Mustang.) The only GM products here now are my Chevelle and Camaro.
No hate here,,,, I have two 70 Chevelles and a Silverado, My wife buys here cars on the FORD " X " plan. Her brother retired from the FoMoCo. He was a boss at the WAYNE Assmb. plant.

My first car was a 4 Dr.- 55 Customline with 292. It was a new police car that the township ordered and could not pay for. My Mom and Dad traded her 48 Pontiac for the new 4 Dr. Thunderchicken!
Hell, I'm a Toyota guy with a Chevy problem. No problems here.
I'd absolutely love to find a good condition notch-back Mustang. And a '68 Roadrunner. Early Celica. Mitsubishi Starion. 240 Z. I can think of a car from most automakers that I'd like to have if funds and space were unlimited.
I get employee pricing on almost all of the major manufacturers through my work and I've only ever used it on a Subaru for the wife in 2013. She bought an Acura in 2017 and we got better than employee pricing at the dealership....
Welcome to Team Chevelle Adam , I've had a lot of great running fords in the past, wish I'd of hung on to a few but mostly my green 70 Mach 1 351C & 4 spd
Chevy guy here, but we work on lots of Fords and Mopars here in the upholstery shop. I appreciate ALL the old muscle cars. Every one has it's own virtues....
Sorry it took me so long to respond, I got married this last Saturday and then went on a cruise. The couple of weeks leading up to the wedding were pretty hectic, to say the least. The turbo setup is my first self-built setup, made out of mostly whatever I could find lying around. The manifolds are corvette manifolds flipped upside down with the original downpipe flanges cut off and chunks blown out of the cylinder head flanges to clear the sparkplugs. Engine is a 5.3 with stock (rebuilt) internals, top rings opened up, some kind of turbo-oriented cam just a big bigger than an ls6 cam, and cnc'd stock head castings. The turbos support 400 hp each, and the car in it's previous iteration weighed 1975 lbs with a full nitrous bottle and no driver. It ran high 7's at 180-something. I think it'll make a fun street car.
OP you wont find brand hate here, lots of us own (ed) all makes. Had plenty of stangs from 65 to 86. These are easy to work on and tons of aftermarket support.
Good bunch of guys here who help...rarely will you see trolling here. If you want mustang hate go to the corvette forums
You won't see much hate around here. I only have 5 Chevy's right now, but I've owned Mopars and Fords in the past.
