Welcome Lance, to Team Chevelle.....

Probably the first thing you should do is get a '67 AIM (Assembly Instruction Manual). Youtube also has a lot of info. It would help to know where you are located so other members could possibly help out.

Don't know of any "step by step" info out there. If you want to tear it down to bare frame, here's the "short form". Start with draining radiator, remove bumpers, hood and front clip, engine/trans, body wiring and plumbing, body mounts, then lift body off the frame. In that order. Bag and tag EVERY nut, bolt, and piece as you remove them. Take lots of pics before and during disassembly.

If this is your first time tackling something as major as this, get help from someone knowledgeable. You don't want to end up with a car all torn apart and then realizing it's more than you bargained for.

Edit: Just remembered, there is a book called "How to Restore Your '57 Chevy". It shows everything from disassembly to reassembly on a '57 2-door hardtop. The same basic principles could be applied to your '67 Chevelle. I have this book and have used it many times on my Tri-5 projects. EXCELLENT book.

When I works, I works hard.
When I sits, I sits loose.
When I thinks, I falls asleep.

Re: 67 2dr ht restore

Welcome to the site. I'm sure that if you do a search here, there will be extensive conversation on how to do that.

Re: 67 2dr ht restore

Its sorta a do as you go .
Lots little stuff to remove maybe 8 body bolts that will most likely break off or the welded nut will just spin so be ready to cut the heads.

Bag n tag EVERYTHING
No matter how good you think your memory is and take pictures of EVERYTHING you remove

Not a hard job but it's a learning experience.

Lift and a rotiser is a huge help as is a few friends

I'm in middle of a 72 chevelle wagon but not frame off .

My 67 will get a face lift next , trying get the wagon ready for cruise coast Mississippi in October.

Lots to still do .

What's your location
