While my engine was being rebuilt I started to work on the body. I had picked up a good set of bumpers off Craigslist a while back and had them sandblasted.

I shaved all the bumper holes and narrowed the bumper and bracket to bring the bumper in tighter.

I also decided to get rid of the rear marker lights.

I wanted to do something a little different for my inner fenders than black paint so I sprayed them with raptor liner reduced out of an hlvp gun.

I also repainted the firewall and hid all the underhood wiring.

I got the car back from the paint shop two months ago. New engine is installed and in the process of being broke in. I did my stripes a little different than regular SS stripes, I think they came out good.

Re: Budget 71 Chevelle build

Love the build. I guess all builds are basically budget builds.

You're just jealous because you can't hear the voices!

Re: Budget 71 Chevelle build

I had to pull my transmission to fix a rear main leak. While I was at it I also upgraded my headers from cheap ebay headers to American Racing 2 inch headers and a nick William's 102 tb. I also installed a mighty mouse pcv catch can.

I know it's not a big block but I love the look of this fast hi ram intake under the hood. It doesn't look like it fits but it does barely.

I decided to make a custom package tray and trunk kit for my car. I had my eye on the alien enclosure but I didn't have a way to mount my amp. I think it turned out alright for a first timer.
