El Camino Pro-Touring

I started a project in late January with a 72 El Camino shell with rot at the back window and smugglers box.
Been cranking away on it since then and have finally got it in paint and running.
Put a 2002 LS-1 with a 6 speed manual transmission in it. 4 inch drop in the front and 2 inch in the rear. 18" wheels in front and 20" in the rear.
Just started re-assembly about 2 weeks ago. I will post a few pics of the process so far.

I know this car is still in the project stage and forgive me if it's a little early, but it does run and drive, and starting to look cool. I think.

Great choice on the drivetrain and love the stance also. It's going to be a great ProTouring machine IMO as ElCamino's make a perfect place to start a protouring project.Good Luck with it

Thanks. Yeah, I'm in love with the LS motors and 6 speed transmission packages. Had a LS-2 & 6 sp. in my last 67 Chevelle and couldn't get enough of it. I think this one is gonna be a great driver. I will probably update the front a arms and brakes within a year. I didn't want to derail the progress spending my money on that when it can be done later.
Here's a pic of a similar looking car. Kinda what I have in mind for a finished product.

Awesome! That's the route I'd like to go, but will take some time! What part of AZ are you in?

I live in the far east Mesa area. Usually go to the Pavillions when I have a car together and the Goodguys shows are a "never miss" item.
Been over on your side of town a few times. Got some car pals out there. Used to always go to the Glendale swap meet, but kinda got outta buying used parts per say.
This black 67 was the car I drove for the last two years. Sold it in Jan. of this year.

Thanks, she's not 100% "on the road" yet. Just snuck it down to the little show last Friday about a mile from my house. My goal now is to have it on the road in 30 days and finished by March Goodguys show.
