My wife and I go down a couple of times a year but never for more than two weeks. My adult kids and their families use the condo which is on the intercoastal waterway right by the draw bridge to Siesta Key. It makes for a cheap getaway to enjoy Siesta Key beach and all the surrounding attractions for them. I used to have a good friend who relocated to Bradenton many years ago and started up a tool business so the condo was a convenient place to stay while visiting. He spent a lot of time organizing Nostalgia events at Desoto Dragway back then.

Re: 65 SS Chitvelle - My PT attempt

Decided to go with an electric pump on the fluid tank instead of the original style. Cleans up and shrinks the size of the wiper motor assembly.

Re: 65 SS Chitvelle - My PT attempt

The original one I had put on there was this:

Premier Gear PGW-142 Wiper Motor (New)
ACI 172212 Windshield Washer Pump

But now with the other set up in the last picture I don't know where that cover came from.

Re: 65 SS Chitvelle - My PT attempt

Car is ready to fire up. Hopefully Monday is the day...blacked out the air intake tube and some other shiny pieces that were in there, have a bunch of reservoirs and catch cans over in the old battery location. Got a regular cap for the oil on there so it doesn't stick up so high. Brakes and clutch are bled...Still need some bump stops for the rear. We have power run everywhere, fuel pump kicks on, no fuel leaks, we have pre-oiled the engine...almost ready to do some burnouts!

Re: 65 SS Chitvelle - My PT attempt

It's alive! Up and running, moving around on it's own...steers and stops. Still no seat in it, so a milk crate will have to do for now. Next up is the headliner and then front and back windows. Get the front bumper on there along with the grille and other trim.

C10 chassis is down getting prepped and painted at Bent Metal Customs right now. We are going to try to make it out to Good Guys Columbus. Stop by and say hello if you are around. This is going to be a fun summer of classic vehicles!

Re: 65 SS Chitvelle - My PT attempt

I know I owe everyone a video of this thing running...but with the car in VT and me in MA and all this social distancing and sheltering-in-place...Progress is still happening. The headliner and sail panels went in today so that the windshield and back glass can go in next.

And the one C10 pic for those who care:
