I am not really a blue lover but your car looks fantastic, Nice pick.

Tighten it till it strips and back it off a quarter turn.

I have the original 327 in a crate. Not sure I want to part with it though...

I doubt you'll ever return your car to original now, especially after you drive it with the LS motor.
I have a '64 Chevelle 327 in the car now that runs. If it's that you want a 327 for some future use, I'll work it in as part trade...

Re: Building my 66 'Maliblu'

great color choice, it's a seldom seen original color but the base coat/clear coat makes it look amazing! You'll stand out in the sea of many, but for the right reasons... simply stunning...

Re: Building my 66 'Maliblu'

Time for a little update on my '66 Chevelle...

Since the last update, I had the sound system installed. Put a RetroSound unit in the dash to preserve a little original look. Modern amps and signal processors in the trunk behind the back seat with a sub. More parts were assembled and a bit more trim put on. Also got all new glass installed along with seals etc.

I dropped of the car for a custom interior around the first of December. Shooting to have it all done by early March.

Wow. I wasn't too hot on that blue before (a little dark for me), but it looks REALLY good against the chrome. Congrats on getting further down the road. You'll be cruising in no time.

I love the blue. I love blue with chrome, blue with silver, my favorite combinations.
What color will the interior be?

Re: Building my 66 'Maliblu'

Thanks for the comments on the color and progress so far. The blue is dark but as I've said it is the stock color and the contrast with the chrome trim is what I've always like about this car. Nice to see others have the same opinion.

As for the interior it is going to be a charcoal gray with dark blue stitching. Basically will match the dash color you can see in the pictures. Actually picked the dash color to match the leather color. Didn't want black as I thought that would just be too dark all the way around. Considered blues and two tones but decided all that was too busy. Decided on a dark gray. I hope it turns out.

Re: Building my 66 'Maliblu'

Another update on my Chevelle "Maliblu":

Interior is make progress. Trunk is done, headliner done, carpet done, door panels done. Seats (front and rear), back side panels, center console, dash pad and steering wheel to go. Hope it will be done in the next couple weeks. Plan is to be on display at an indoor car show in March. Will have lots of pictures available then.
