Because Photobucket got greedy, the company were A holes and changed the usage rules a few years back to become a pay for service business.

Re: Why do the photobucket pics on threads show up blurry?

A lot of people used Photo Bucket. Then they started charging for the service. I had a lot of photos on it. I'd have paid for the service if it was reasonable but they wanted like $350 a year to use it-and I'm sure it would've gone up by now. For a few bucks a month maybe but no way for what they wanted.

Because photobucket sucks. Click on the picture and it might take you to a nonblurry picture at PB if you're lucky.

If you need a picture of something specific, just ask....we'll help you out.

$8/month is what I pay for a premium Photobucket account. More storage and bandwidth than I could possibly use. Since I have been with them for over 12 years I can share some history. The free accounts had limited storage and bandwidth. If going over on bandwidth the photos would not show in posts until the new month started, so I have paid for there service all but the first year to avoid the interruptions and not have to deal with the ads. Somewhere along the lines they lifted the restrictions on the free accounts and realized years later that was unsustainable even with the ad revenue. Of course they decided to be stupid with the new pricing and drove lots of people away. It isn't free but the cost is reasonable IMO.
