Vehicle Transport Services

I wasn't quite sure the proper place to put this thread.

I just recently purchased a 68 Malibu from PA. I'm in GA.

I would like to go and get the car my self, but logistically that might not work out right now.

The issue is that the purchase of the car included a bunch of spare parts...hood, fenders, rear quarters, rockers panels, rad core support. If I have it shipped, I don't want these items damaged. I was wondering if there were smaller more personal car transport services that might be able to accommodate the special need.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Re: Vehicle Transport Services

You might want to contact TAR Trucking. They are a small one family trucking business that operates in the eastern part of the US. I had a car delivered to me in Michigan from Virginia at a very reasonable rate. Phone# is 540-793-9904. Ask for either Troy or Danny Rucker. Good luck.

I've spent most of my money on women and guns. The rest I just wasted...

Re: Vehicle Transport Services

They won’t be thrilled to deal with the parts, it makes what would typically be an easy job much more difficult and time consuming. You will pay for that. If you can pick it up yourself, you should.

Re: Vehicle Transport Services

I agree in finding a smaller family run transport service, with a good rep of course. I checked with a local transport service in Colorado in 2018 when I almost bought a MINI Countryman from a dealer and they recommended the local hauler that went just about anywhere in the USA (I'm in PA). They were so much less expensive than all the big name haulers I couldn't believe it! I ended up not buying that MINI as I found one local (within 90 minutes or so).

As for the parts, again, you will have much better luck with a small privately owned hauler. Have the seller look around for you local to his area. My son recently bought a DeLorean and the seller included transporting the car to PA from OH along with a large amount of NOS DeLorean was included in the price of the car! It was a trailer behind a dually diesel powered truck. Where there's a will there's a way. Check around before spending huge money to transport the car & all the can be done.

Good luck!

Re: Vehicle Transport Services

Nobody will care more about the safe transport of the parts and car than yourself. I hope you can find someone however if it were me I would do it myself. Sounds like a weekend job.
