Where can I buy these?

Anyone know where I can buy two of these rubber bumpers? They are both split at the top and one is torn where it plugs into the body. I found them on OPG website, but they are part of a set of about a dozen other rubber bumpers and I don't need all those others. I only need these two. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Re: Where can I buy these?

If you only need two, then your best alternative is to go to a junk yard... also, bring one of yours to compare with the the ones you'll find...
Good luck,
Claude.

Good luck,
Claude.
The main large junkyard in my area has no older cars. When I talked to them about a jack, they laughed (really they laughed) and said I'd be lucky to find anything in their yard as old as the 80's.

Re: Where can I buy these?

Don't want to hijack this thread - but did these also originally come on a '66? I've never noticed them on other '66's I've seen.

I know they sell them in the Ground-Up '66 rubber kit, but I don't take that as gospel that the factory used them originally.

Re: Where can I buy these?

Try to find good used ones as they are softer. The durometer of the rubber on new ones can be hard making for difficult hood closing and paint removal.

Re: Where can I buy these?

I may have a couple laying around. I'll look when I had out to the shop today.
Maybe wrong but I believe the goal was to the hood from vibrating.

Re: Where can I buy these?

yes they cut the hood vibrations.if you look at the hood it's flat basically it's just 3 thicknesses of sheet metal, now go look at a cutlass or gto hood, they have sides on em about 3/4 of an inch to an inch.so much more rigid, and they still have those bumpers.
