Re: inside 72 front turnsignals paint

That is correct. I think I used a paint that Eastwood has for that purpose. If you aren't in a hurry I will look this weekend to see what is left of the can. If it is still good you are welcome to it for whatever shipping is. I seemed like a waste to buy the whole can which would probably do a hundred lenses.

Ok, The Eastwood stuff is supposed to be reflective. Made for that purpose. I imagine for most uses regular silver would be fine too

Re: inside 72 front turnsignals paint

I'm pretty sure that only the curved reflector behind the light bulb should be silver. The rest of the interior of the housing is supposed to be the body color.

Re: inside 72 front turnsignals paint

I didn't know that about the turn signals. does that apply to all 72 chevelle's. I have a a 72 that is getting body work done and painted. Does someone have a picture of how exactly it is painted silver and what type of silver is used?
Thanks

Re: inside 72 front turnsignals paint

Here is a picture of what I described in my previous post. You can see that the curved reflector is silver but the rest (easier to see at the bottom of the lens) is body color (in this case, red). It's easier to see on a '71 because of the clear lens but I'm pretty sure it's the same thing for '72's.

Re: inside 72 front turnsignals paint

Unless youíre wanting a concourse restoration Iíve always just pressed aluminum foil against the Back reflective surfaces inside light housings. The reflectivity is great and the price is nearly zero.
