All the information u want for your car but were afraid to ask

Below is a link for GM archive information that has incredible amount of information on our cars. I used to call Chevy back in the day and get this information but didn't know it was still available and now online. Click the link and select Archive then Vehicle information kits and select your car. Enjoy

They only go back to 1977 for Chevrolet.

Members of the GM Heritage Center team have been searching for the original pre 1977 Chevrolet build documentation for more than 25 years and it has yet to be found. At the present time, we are unable to provide build information or documents for any pre-1977 Chevrolet.

The famous Canadian Dionne quintuplets, Yvonne, Emilie, Cecile, Marie and Annette, give a car wash to a 1939 Buick Roadmaster Phaeton before taking their first ride out into the world.

The document that I downloaded from this site for my 68 was pretty extensive providing specs I haven't seen anywhere else, especially for the L79

Were they specific to your car or in general for the model? For car specific items like invoice and build sheet, they only go back to 77.

Dean, the 1959 El Camino came up for me after the 1939 video you posted. I thought some here will appreciate it.

No I don"t see anything specific to build sheets or invoice but I downloaded a 199 page document. It has model specific stuff for example that my L79 used 2.5'' header pipe and 2.25 tailpipe, same as the big block. Whats forged and information on casting numbers like my distributor, carburetor and much more. I just thought people who are not aware that this exist may be helpful to them.

It is definitely cool that they have kept all of the information that they have and even better that they allow free downloads of a lot of it. Thanks for posting the link! I was just pointing out that they don't have car specific documents like invoices and build sheets before 77. It was encouraging to hear that they have been searching for them. Who knows, maybe they will find an archive that has been hidden all these years.

The downloads look like a photocopy of a photocopy, they look terrible. What gives, not much quality control from GM on that one, maybe some of the other ones are better. As I said not to impressed with the quality, I downloaded the 1966 Chevelle year

Dean I am sure you are old enough to remember the comedy movie "Everything you wanted to know about sex but were afraid to ask". Very funny movie of yesteryear. It's a joke dude!
