A while back I posted the question Factory or Triple Black

So about 70% of responders came back with triple black when I asked original colors or not. More importantly the wife SAID it's gonna be triple. So I was hoping to get it on the road this fall but ran into a few snags. In any case here are some pics of her today. I want to thank all the people that answered my many questions during this
3 year project. Once I get the manual to power top situation fixed it will go to the upholstery shop. Interior is done and going in very soon. She's not a SS but she is a very rare car with L79 number matching convertible with AC, 4 piston disc brakes, gauges and the normal L79 stuff like 12 bolt 3.31 posi and M21 Muncie. I hope you guys and girls like our choice

Jay I checked out your garage. You have quite the personality. My favorite was "Whats under the Hood" and you answered the wall. Thanks for the laugh!

Yes sir. Which is why I'm putting an L-79 into my 2 door wagon project. All factory details, including the 11:1 Domed pistons & 151 cam.

The little 327 (now a 331) stayed stock with it's 11 to 1 forged pistons, 151 cam, stock 202 heads. Hell even the distributor (I did convert to electronic) and carb are original. Sweet idle, 151 was always my SBC goto cam...

Bill, I see you're going for a stock look. Are you going with vinyl top or canvass? I went vinyl on my triple black '72 a few years ago because I wanted a stock look. However, I think the canvass tops look very good. They add a little "upscale" to the car.

Joe, I am still debating but I think the cloth does add an upscale look especially with black and will most likely go that route. I am still fighting the top frame issues and a rivet pulled out yesterday causing some nice cuts and bruising on my arm. Very little information on proper adjustments considering how many A bodies verts are out there. The car is a number matching drivetrain but I changed out the bench to buckets and colors so I am doing it my way while keeping all major parts original looking. I have the original wire wheel hubcaps and would love to use them if I didn't hate 14's and how they handle. It would be a true sleeper for sure.

Re: A while back I posted the question Factory or Triple Black

I just do not know about some guys????? This black car is kinda like Mike M. car. They buy the car with the canvas roof, NOW for a " Fistfull of Dollars " you could have a car with a " Full metal roof "!
You should sell that car with the soft canvas ( non metal) top to me and then buy a nice 4 door with a metal roof, WHY? Well, The Texas Chain saw guy would have a tough time getting through the roof of a four door with a metal roof, Just thinking of your SAFETY, Then again,,Another reason to sell it to " ME "..,,,,,Wadda, Ya,,Think!

And if you believe the old timers' stories, the early ones ate big blocks for breakfast.
