Does anyone recognize this side-view mirror?

Just picked up a '70 and the mirror is broken. After reading Im learning this is not the correct mirror for the car. Does anyone know what it is from because I like it and wouldn't mind finding a replacement or something similar? Thanks

Re: Does anyone recognize this side-view mirror?

Its a common aftermarket item from the '70-'80's, you may find them on ebay.

It is a rare man who can count his own blessings and not mistake them for personal achievements.

Re: Does anyone recognize this side-view mirror?

I agree with Dave on it being an aftermarket. It is similar to the sport "bullet" mirrors available on '71 (?) and '72 Chevelles, GTOs, 442s, and GSs.

Re: Does anyone recognize this side-view mirror?

Why do you guys say it's aftermarket?…I remember lots of cars having them back in the 70's (GM, Ford, Chrysler, AMC, etc…)… It could've come from one of them…

Those didn't have the cheap looking chrome base.

Yep it’s the base. Many GM cars had those bullet or sport mirrors, but the bases were cast at different angles for mounting on Camaro, Chevelle, Firebird etc.

Re: Does anyone recognize this side-view mirror?

Have one I purchased at a swap meet, has the same upper but the base is similar and is painted with holes for 2 screws to attach it to the door. The top is the same and it appears to be aftermarket.
