1965 Center Console

My 65 has a Borg Warner 4 speed, with no center console installed. My question is, without spending 350 bucks on a console and just winging it to see if it fits, should it theoretically fit? Or does the Borg Warner locate the shifter slightly in a different position than the stock Muncie. Attached is a picture of my current set up

Re: 1965 Center Console

The B-W is a functional equivalent of the Muncie, especially the Super T-10 version. I don't think the shift levers on the transmission should be an issue, shifter location in this case has more to do with the make & model of shifter.

You know what, you can place the '65 console where you need it since it isn't installed already. Assuming your current shifter doen't have anything strange, like extra-long throws. If you have to cut or hack the '65 console, don't. Just leave it off & save or sell it. Your current setup looks just fine.

Re: 1965 Center Console

I've gotta agree with Cam. Unless you have your heart set on getting/installing the console, it looks great just the way it is.

Yeah, we're runnin' a little bit hot tonight,
I can barely see the road from the heat comin' off,
You know what I'm sayin',
Ahh, you reach down, put it between my legs 'n
ease the seat back,
She's runnin', I'm flyin',
Right behind in the rear view mirror now,
Got the fearin', power steerin',
Pistons poppin', ain't no stoppin' now,

You’re right... sometimes you get the itch to change stuff just to change it. Thanks for talking me out of spending 350 bucks!
