We used to rip on that book in the restoration section a bunch of years back.
Thanks

Mines no restoration, so that’s a-okay and I’ll check it out. I like the idea of a front spoiler too but shipping to the UK is crippling!

I’m getting the vibe to go clean and remove them, perhaps replacing with something ghost/shadow like later if I do wish

IF you put stripes back on, I would think black would look best with that car's changes.

Thanks Josh I've seen those same digits and stuff after other people's posts but you're the first person to answer the question of what they are.
Since your car is a 69 you should look up what the 69 Chevelle's side stripes look like. That would be my vote because I never liked the 1970 stripes on a 69 to me they look out of place.I think a black side stripe would look great on a silver 69.

Re: Keep stripes or go naked?.. votes please

I don't like stripes on anything, not even on the 70-72 SS models.
Our 70 is NOT an SS,but we have added MANY SS type features including the CI hood, which I prefer without stripes.

I like those white stripes on your car. Like others have said, do what you like. You have to be happy with your car. It is impossible to please everyone.

In 69 I ordered a brand new 69 Chevelle SS with the side body stripe. I think for us older guys we like them more the way they came from the factory so I say no to the hood or trunk stripes.

Re: Keep stripes or go naked?.. votes please

Personally, I don't usually care for the 70-72 style stripes on earlier cars... Well, on any car really...

But something about this car makes me think it could use stripes... Maybe its the cowl hood or the blacked out front trim... Just looks like it needs something...

First things first. Its your car so do whatever makes you happy. That being said hood stripes on a 69 is like hot sauce on ice cream. It just doesn't go. Less is more here.

Go naked!

Another vote for no stripes. I like the stock stripes on the '68 and '69 better.

Naked! Given the lack of chrome, the posts, and the general tone of the presentation, Naked.
