My cold air intake
I’ve been asking some questions about cold air intake and taking air in from behind the front bumper and now I’ve completed the air intake portion. I still need to add a deflector behind the bumper and forward of the tire to force the air up through the hole I cut.
I used sheet aluminum for the surround, some scrap carbon fiber for the lid, a Spectre filter and boot for through the aluminum wall. The intake tube is 3.5” aluminum and I insulated it end to end.
Under the filter I cut a 4” round hole in the horizontal section of the inner fender allowing air in from below. This where I still need to add a deflector to force air up.
I’m also going to relocate the front turn signals to the larger center cutouts so the existing hole on the drivers side will flow directly into the are below the filter and hit the deflector.
I’ll post more pics when I finish the deflector.
