You're lucky to have one.

Use a soft brush to get most of the dirt off, then you should be able to flatten it out gently.

Take lots of photos & scan it when it's flattened out.

Wish the factory would have at least put these in a plastic bag or some kind of protection.........

I really don't think build sheets were intended to be "found" after the car left the assembly line. It was just an easy way for the assembly guy to dispose of them instead of taking the time to walk to a trash can after the sheet was used. That's why they were left in so many different places in or under the car.

Re: Build sheet in top of tank!!! (69 Chevelle)

It would be great if someone has a way to soften that old paper so it can be flattened without crumbling. I found mine back in 1996 and it was really too fragile to do much with. I taped the pieces down to a sheet of notebook paper to preserve most of it. There must be a better way.
That is still an excellent find. Congratulations.

I don't think that assembly guys even picked them up and looked at them, they just left them where they were.

Re: Build sheet in top of tank!!! (69 Chevelle)

What would your build sheet be worth to you? That is a question each person would have to answer for themselves. If it's really important to you you could try a paper conservation specialist. It may cost $150.00 to $200.00. To some it would be worth it. To others it'd be a big waste of money. It's your call.
