Plug Gap

Accel 576S plugs. Close to stock SBC 350. Ignition converted to electronic. Out of the box gaps are less that .035. What should the gap be? Thanks

Re: Plug Gap

Which electronic system? The manufacturer will have a recommendation. If it's a HEI I gap mine at .055

Re: Plug Gap

I am running the gap on my plugs at .035, on a 377 with an HEI - no issues. .035 - .040 should be just fine.

Re: Plug Gap

All I know for sure is that it is a stock size distributor with electronic guts. Not HEI. Forgot the name, but the guy I bought it from (Bubba, maybe?) used to have a funny video of him sitting with a dog in his lap and talking about tools and cars. He said "Get a gauge!" a lot and explained how you could tell how much torque you were getting from an impact wrench by counting the number of blips. Anybody know what I'm talking about, or was I hallucinating?

Re: Plug Gap

It is probably the Pertronix Ignitor or Ignitor II.

Re: Plug Gap

If its a stock style distributor with a points replacement run the stock gap.

Your just jealous because you can't hear the voices!
