Re: Upside down pics

Move To Australia.:

I have the same issue sometimes. I'LL upload them to my computer and edit them rightside up. Make a copy and save it. Then when I post here it will still be upside down.

That's what I did with your picture and it's still upside down.

Re: Upside down pics

I try to hold the phone a certain way when taking pictures. . It usually helps. Camera button is at the bottom or on the right side of the screen.

The very first photo I post, which is taken by my Fujifilm S5000 (older) Digital Camera, then saved to my Desktop Computer, always displays upside down. The next photos, in that post, are right side up.

I guess you need to turn the first one upside down before uploading it, then it will be right side up afterwords.

Re: Upside down pics

Photos are fine. It's your computer that is upside down.

Re: Upside down pics

For me, its the difference in size (in megabytes) between being taken by my cell phone (larger MB pics) than when I take them with a dedicated digital camera . . . shoots smaller megabyte pictures. My shots taken by the dedicated digital camera load upright and OK when I post them on El Camino Central but the better bigger shots from my cell phone are upside down.

So I only post with the dedicated camera pictures. I'm told that I could run the fatter, bigger megabyte shots through Photoshop and save them in a less bulky format but I'd rather spend my money on car parts. A no kidding genuine copy of Photoshop is expensive.

I am a firm believer in this. All of our foreman take before and after pics of work on their iphones. Once i told them always have the camera button to the right, we stopped getting upside down pics.

Re: Upside down pics

The issue is newer cameras have a sensor that determines orientation, and adds that information to the metadata in the file. So the "smart picture" will display as taken with "smart software".
If you have dumb software, it will show how the actual photo was saved by default, then you rotate it so it looks OK. Then you upload it, and now, it has the orientation info BUT it has been pre-rotated, which adds on and now is wrong again.

What I do, if I have a problem, is open a photo, rotate it then save it without metadata. This way will always show correct.
