All Girls Buckets & Console

Anyone see the episode of All Girls Garage where they ( or someone behind the scenes) converted a 75 Elco from bench to buckets and console?
So they removed the bench and installed what looked like Scat bucket seats. They also used a 68-72 console with a couple mods. It was a column shift and they left it as such. So in the console where the shifter normally goes they converted that to 2 cup holders. They took a piece of aluminum and kept it flush with the top of the console, then simply cut two holes for the stainless holders. They also gave the piece of aluminum a brushed finish to match the other aluminum on the console and masked of the center and painted the edges black to match the rest of the console. In addition they cut off the rear shifter mount to get the console to conform to the 75 tunnel.
It looked to me to be a simple yet very good looking and useful console mod. That episode is #S07E08 and will air again tomorrow and this coming Friday on Velocity for anyone that is interested.

Yah its pretty lame and two of the three "Girls" are obviously on there for their looks and tight shirts but I was watching another car show prior to the All Girls show and they showed a couple second teaser about changing an ElCamino from bench to buckets and console so I decided to watch.

I'll have to look that one up. I rarely watch it, but sometimes they do neat add ons to something like a Jeep that is interesting. I like the guys on Car Fix and I think 3 Girls show follows it.

... and with the younger generations coming of age interest if cars is on the decline. Heck, many don't even want to own a car! Getting a drivers license is not a right of passage as it was back in the day. Also, there are studies that indicate they even lack interest in the opposite sex?:

Depends on your interpretation of the meaning of "hot Rod"

Millions of the younger generations would love to own a Chevelle but can't afford one.
Folks paying big money just for the numbers on home brewed fakes is partly to blame for that.
(the studies are obviously fake news)

Re: All Girls Buckets & Console

I watch every episode any time they are on. They are welcome to work on any of my cars anytime. I do miss Jesse Combs. Only issue is they are so young.....

If you google stalk them, you will find they are all top notch techs as well as rich and hot.

Whats not to like?

Re: All Girls Buckets & Console

By them just using tools, taking stuff apart and putting back together they are better than 90% of the men I know. Did anyone see that girl on Goblin Works build her own radiator?

If I read correctly some time ago, Rachel's father owned a garage not far from me in PA and she spent a lot of time with him there growing up.

BTW, my wife barely knows which end of a screwdriver to hold.

Re: All Girls Buckets & Console

I watched that and I usually switch back and forth betweenthat and something else I find interesting but when Rachel snapped that bolt I continued watching.Towards the end of that show, did you see that stupid looking steering wheel they installed on that Elco ? It was glaringly white and looked like a $29.95 cheapo.Definately looked out of place.
As far as that console goes, why didn't they just install the staple shifter instead of the cupholders ?

So....what's the problem, exactly?

You don't necessarily have to watch them to learn.....anything.

But they do some cool projects and work on cars that I'd never get to see.

Do I think they have tech people/guys behind the scenes? Yes.

Do I care? Not at all.
