Copo decals and stickers

What tire pressure decal did the copos come with? Also....was there any other special decals that came on copo cars?

Re: Copo decals and stickers

About 6 years ago there was a member here that made the correct tire pressure sticker for a COPO Chevelle (with correct letter codes). I'm sorry I don't remember his name, but I bought one from him and it's an excellent reproduction that is NOT available from any other source -- that I'm aware of.

As far as special sticker/decals, no they were pretty much unmarked (to keep them secret from GM/Chevrolet management spys. The air cleaner was unmarked, and as I recall the tune up sticker was from an L-78 equipped Chevelle.

Re: Copo decals and stickers

I think maybe it was Don Lightfoot that made decals but he hasn't posted here in 3 1/2 years.

Re: Copo decals and stickers

Mmmm, my Chevelle had no stickers under the hood. I never noticed a tire pressure sticker but, perhaps had one . . .

You might try yenko.net for Don (PeteLeathersac) . . .

Thanks for the info guys. I'll try and find Don and see if he still has some or makes the decals.

Found that Don Lightfoot has a website (see below) for his decals. Sent him an email and waiting for an answer back.

Re: Copo decals and stickers

Don's decals are excellent.

My COPO did not have a tune-up sticker (have photos from 1970) and it did not have a tire pressure decal. The original aircleaner was gone when I got the car. A friend that has an unrestored COPO did not have a tune-up sticker or tire pressure (no evidence of either too). It is commonly thought that the air cleaner lids did not have any decals either.
