Black stock looking Plug wires

Just passing this along. My D.Driver is a 468 B.B. with H.E.I.. I like the stock Org. look under the hood. My plug wires are " Black " and fit like a glove (not O.Js)
They are for a Mid 80s B.B. Suburban. The wires are different lengths, For assigned locations. Very correct looking boots and fit the dist. beautiful. ALSO they fit into the STOCK 1970 O.E.M. wire looms and valve covers.
They look like to old style " Packard 440 wires". No big deal, It just gives the engine a Org. 1970 look.

Be sure and charge that AC for the ride to Dairy Queen in a few weeks.

Re: Black stock looking Plug wires

Good info Bob

If you have a GM points distributor, these wires fit a big block like a glove-especially using the factory valve covers with the factory plug wire holders:

Standard brand, part# 7836

Mr. Merlo:
Funny you should ask. The A/C was checked and charged yesterday. I did this because I did not want Ice Cream dripping on the bucket seats in my FAKE SS 454 Station Wagon.
We may not need the A/C, The weather may be in the low 40s.??? Thats NIPPY for August in Ohio.
Are you bringing that Blue car with the Canvas Top? Most of the 69 guys & Girls " DID NOT " buy the cars with the Canvas tops they got the weather proof metal tops.

Re: Black stock looking Plug wires

Not real sure they have been making spark for over 10 years. With that said. I believe I went to a local parts store and got a set of DELCO wires for a mid 80s 454 Suburban.
Someone else may be able to help with more info and or a part number.

Re: Black stock looking Plug wires

Pertronix makes black resistor plug wires that look stock without the lettering, but have less resistance than stock. Available at Summit, Jegs, etc.

Re: Black stock looking Plug wires

I roll my own Taylor 8mms and buy the extra "medusa looking" 180 distributor ends. Universal set with 135 degree tips btw. Other than the Taylor name, and not Delco Remy, they;re good.

Re: Black stock looking Plug wires

I buy Packard 440 from Brillman. They sell it in carbon core for hei..

I still use and prefer the points system.. I am looking for a nice, iron, single points distributor right now for my 454... I need a coil also..

Re: Black stock looking Plug wires

I'm tempted to forgo all the electronics myself and run a set of SOLID CORE Taylor's I made up near 20 yrs ago when I got the Chevelle. Bulletproof and the B field they put up really helps AM radio reception, oddly.

I was searching for oem coils at Spring Carlisle and didnt find many to buy.

Those are the wires I just purchased, solid core, non-resistor 44XLS plugs and points.......radio delete!

SHUTTAP Jerry ---- you just cost me WAY too much $$$ @ JetHot showing off those BEAUTIFUL white pipes of yours.

I didnt mind my MSD until it crappd out after 15 years ( they replaced a cap or two and I havent run it since), yet I'm thinking of using a non-MSD trigger Day Ray small base Hei. I dont need no stinking rev limiter!
