Re: Cleaning

Depends. What's on it? Is it just dust? Is it crud/grease? I'd start with an all surface glass cleaner-type product. A more abrasive measure would be Toothpaste and an old soft toothbrush -- works wonders on crud, but does have a polishing effect.

Remove the headlamp swith and the bezel for the RR Defogger.

Re: Cleaning

If it were mine the first step for me is warm water with mild dish soap (just a little bit) and soft bristle brush and then rinse and towel dry. Start gentle and elevate the aggressiveness with chemicals only as needed. Simple Green would be a next step. There are also threads on silver paint pens for redoing the paint on the raised sections that ought to be silver.

Thanks guys. It’s just an extra instrument carrier I had. Thinking of replacing original with broken screw holes. I think it’s from a Elco. picture original

Re: Cleaning

Drop one or two towels in the bottom of the bathtub. Drop in the dash. Rinse it down good with the flex shower head. A soft brush and a little " DAWN" you will have a KLEEN dash housing.

Thanks Robinis5. I’ll give that a try. Thinking about getting the original restored. I think they have a place in Idaho that does it.

I would like to find someone on this site to restore the original, if anyone knows a good restorer. Pictures of old carrier.

Re: Cleaning

Two members that come to mind are RealRed70 and cheveslakr. Both longtime site members.

Yes I’m a fan of RealRed70s work. Would love to have him restore it. Haven’t seen the other member.
