Re: Streak Free Glass

If water spots are an issue, I'll use vinegar as a cleaner then follow up with regular window cleaning methods. If the stains are tough, 100% vinegar sprayed and allowed to work in a bit. Light stains can be tackled with a watered down mixture.

Re: Streak Free Glass

Streak free, good ol newspaper.
I wax the windshield once a year along with the rest of the car. With the winsheild angle you dont even need wipers unless its a torrential downpour.

Re: Streak Free Glass

I've used a lot of the methods already mentioned here, newspaper, vinegar, etc. The only thing I found that works for me is Griots window cleaner! I'm not pitching them, just stating that it is the only thing that works for me 99.9% of the time.

I use Adam's Polishes Brilliant Glaze on inside of all glass windows. apply with a pad, then buff off with a microfiber cloth. when haze returns after x number of days, just use microfiber cloth to remove the haze.

I am also an Adam's fan. Their two sided microfiber cloth works great along with their glass cleaner.

For my wifes car I just use a squeegee and that works pretty well.

Saw this on YouTube and it actually works. Use one of those ďmagic eraserĒ pads, a generic one works just fine. Itís amazing how clean itíll get the glass with just water, no cleaning agent needed. Iím a smoker and it worked excellent on the inside of the windshield. I was literally blown away with the results.

Newspaper...with the environmentalists changing news print to a soy based ink I find newspaper to now leaves a film on the inside of the windshield. That cured me of using newspaper, I currently am using a good quality paper towel or a microfiber cloth, and there are different grades of these.

I wondered why newspaper was suddenly leaving streaks when it didn't before. Learn something new every day.
I asked the window cleaners at my Mother-in-law's condo in Ft. Myers how they got the windows so clean and without streaks. "Distilled water with 2-3 drops of Dawn dish detergent in a spray bottle". I tried it along with a micro fiber towel and sure enough it works.

I've tried everything over the years and recently discovered Mothers quick detailer in the spray bottle works incredibly good. Beats everything else by miles.
