Carpet

This might be an odd request, but i am looking for used black carpet for my '68. I am looking for used, but not used up. If you have a black carpet set for a '68 , that you replaced or were going to toss let me know. I know i can get new for around $125, i just want something to use temporarily, until after i paint the car. Thanks, Terry

Re: Carpet

Wow, out of the 51 people who looked at this thread, no one has a used carpet set for sale? I'm not asking for a freebee. Terry

Re: Carpet

Maybe most people were like me and through the old carpet away and the rest of them havent seen this.
Mine was so bad, nobody would want it. (somebody had set a battery in the passenge's side floor)

I think I might have a set from my 72. Wouldn’t shipping kill this deal?

That is very possible, Dean. I wasn't asking anyone to DONATE the carpet, i just wanted to buy someones used cast off. Unless someone has rubber flooring for a '68 300 Deluxe. Terry

Re: Carpet

Send it by BUS. Any other way one will be hosed. Unless you have some sweetheart deal. Seriously though, believe most repro houses get good shipping deals. So why buy a used carpet for say $25 that costs upwards of $50 to ship, when a new one might be $125 shipped?!?

Re: Carpet

Wish a 67 Nova 2 door hardtop black carpet could work for you. I ordered a new carpet for my 67 Nova SS 6 years ago but never opened the box until last weekend. Instead of being for a 67 Nova SS with the 4 speed hump it was just the carpet for a 2 door hardtop. UGH!!! So I'll probably just put it on Craig's List for $50 and order a new carpet from ACC,

Chuck

You make a valid point, however i am tight fisted with the money in my old age and was trying to get a deal. Terry

Re: Carpet

If you asked a few months ago I had the carpet from my 69 that was in good shape, just needed to be cleaned. I tossed it last time I cleaned. How about some green indoor/outdoor carpet instead? I can hook you up with some of that.

Ya know Steve, I almost used that instead of carpet but decided against it. I can get it in black too, it would work, i would put it in a truck, just not my Chevelle. Thanks for the laugh. Terry

Re: Carpet

Some time ago I actually used house carpet remnants from a supply house that were very cheap. Took some steam and barbell weights to get it shaped, but the end result was great.

Have you ever stopped to think and forgot to start again??

We all did that in the '70s, right. I am back to square one. I will figure it out. Thanks to all who responded. Terry

I wish I could have given you my carpet. The excessive postage rates made it impracticable to ship.
