WTB 66 BB lower power steering pump bracket

I added power steering to my 66 big block with an aftermarket pump kit.

Freakin' aftermarket lower bracket DOES NOT align pump pulley correctly with lower crankshaft pulley. I'm positive I have the correct GM pulley setups.

I've been shimming and bending the aftermarket bracket to get it to work, but it is still not perfect. Time to find an original lower bracket, and I'd rather trust a Team Chevelle member for an original bracket versus evilbay.

I had the same problem. Tried to make it fit buy welding redrilling holes etc. Went ahead and got the GM bracket. Problem solved.

Dave, is your issue that the pump appears "cocked" on the bracket once the belt is installed?
Had that problem with mine(with o.e.GM brackets),turned out that the pump pulley was incorrect. l used GM 3925537 pump pulley to fix mine...lines up dead straight now.

The pump is "cocked" on the bracket when I tighten it down ~without~ the belt in place.

I have pushed, poked, prodded, and bent the aftermarket bracket and I'm done with it!

2 previous leads didn't work out.

Anyone else have one of these?

Re: WTB 66 BB lower power steering pump bracket

There were a couple of BB 66-67 GM lower brackets on ebay last week. They popped up in a search when I was looking for an upper bracket for a small block set up.

FYI...Even the GM brackets need a little love to make them fit correctly. I had to open up the holes a little bit with a die grander to get it into the proper location on the block when I added power steering to my '67 SS.

I bought the Goat Hill Classics reproduction upper and lower brackets for my 66. Pricey, but I don't regret buying. I bought mine from a listing on eBay and the transaction wasn't easy, but I have no complaints about the brackets.

Yeah - this has been my backup plan, but my first choice is to find a good GM bracket if possible.
