Sold, looked pretty nice too. But again, why do so many people put the tailgate emblem on upside down? On a 1967 like mine, if you never saw one, I guess you could just guess wrong, but dang, look at the side quarter panel emblems on that one, you can't put them on upside down, make the tailgate match them. (I know, picky-picky, but it is just one thing that irks me)
Looked like a nice solid car for the price.

It didnít sell. The one bid it recieved didnít meet reserve, a BIN included in the listing might have sold it. Itís unclear what heís asking, but itís more than the $16,500 opening.

Didn't you just buy this car? Why are you selling so quickly? Find something else you like better?

Steve R

I had the reserve set at $18,500. This was my first eBay listing. What is the BIN?

Youíre not the first person to point that out. Itís on the todo list! It bothers me every time I look at it.

Good for you! That's something I'd like to do next instead of full blown, frame off restorations.

BIN stands for buy it now. In an auction it allows the seller to set a price where someone can bypass the bidding and pay a pre-set price then and there. Some sellers donít like it because of the potential end the auction short of what it might have achieved had it runs its course. There is no perfect strategy, itís about finding what works for you.

Re: 1966 El Camino 327 4 speed AC for Sale

Well, I put it back up for sale on EBay yesterday, although I donít have too much faith this time since I went with a cheaper listing schedule. eBay charges $50 for a reserve and then $10 for a buy it now option. I started the auction and my bottom dollar price hence not needing a reserve, but Iím sure that turns buyers off because it doesnít feel as good of a deal, although itís the same end goal as if I had put in a reserve. Total listing cost was $4, letís see what happens.

Good luck, other than A/C it is too similar to my existing El Camino, so I'm out.

Too bad for me. This is what I was looking for, and in the right price range before I bought my 68 a few years ago. Oh well. Good luck. It looks very nice.

Glad to know thereís a market somewhere for it! I was starting to get discouraged. Hope youíre enjoying your 68. I had one before this one.
