Quick Performance 9 inch Housing

I wonder if there is any interest in a 9 inch housing. This is in my 64 Chevelle. Direct bolt in by Quick performance. Housing is stock length rotor to rotor.

I am going to shorten the rear and do a mini tub. So either I will cut this rear or just order another housing all done.

Quick side note question. How much are you going to narrow? I have one -1 per side that I'll be installing soon and am curious to see how it works out.

By the way, if I lived close enough that the rear didn't need shipped I'd be all over it!

Re: Quick Performance 9 inch Housing

Like I said rear is still in the car so pictures are tough unless I had it on the lift. But here it is from Quick Performance.

Allen - Not sure yet. I have to measure everything up this weekend. I also would like to take a 1 inch off each end.

"StevenS", it depends on how much you want to narrow it. If it's only an inch or so, you could narrow the rear end housing you already have. About the axles, quite often aftermarket axles have splines long enough that you can just cut them to the desired length without having to buy new ones…
Good luck,

Claude.

Yes I am trying to figure out what is the most efficient way. Send my out to cut and weld or just order a new housing and drop it in. Axles in this rear are long splines. So all I have to do is cut them. I have no idea what it cost to narrow a housing.

I don't know either but it should be less than buying a new one!

Re: Quick Performance 9 inch Housing

Sorry should of updated this. Quick Performance cut the housing for me. All they charged me was shipping. They are a good company.
