27 years ago I had a chevelle that was a factory 4 speed. It had the RPM gauge in dash on the upper left opposite the clock. I have not seen any factory 4 speeds other than some SSs, so I don't know if the setup I had was standard. I am now on a quest to find or more likely modify a Chevelle, to be like what I remember. Just yesterday I saw some pictures of 72 and 73 Novas, both auto and standard, that had such a dash. Has anyone come across any other factory 4 setups, using a non SS dash, as described? Thanks for any input

The setup you had was an option. If you had a malibu or SS and ordered the optional gauges, you got the SS round style dash and gauge cluster with tach. The SS models came standard with the round cluster but had idiot lights and no tach, the tach/gauges were optional.
