66 Front Bench Seat rubber stops

My 66 SS with Bucket seats has one on each end of the bottom for the back to rest on. On the 66 with a Bench seat I just got there is nothing. Seat has been recovered and I think they just maybe threw then away.

Are there suppose to be similar rubber bumper located on t he bench seat. Do you know the part number? Are they the same as for the bucket seats? Thanks

Re: 66 Front Bench Seat rubber stops

Here is a photo of my bench seat and a photo of my bucket seat. I would need a photo of a seat with the cover removed or a way of locating the hole for the screw.

Think those might be correct or not. Looks like you can get four for about $20 or GM originals for about $50. He is a photo of two originals from my 66SS

I think the oval rubber bumpers are for bucket seats that's why you get 4. Bench seats use the round ones at each end of the seat that's why you get 2.

Re: 66 Front Bench Seat rubber stops

I looked at some photos of old 66 bench seats and most have one(1) at the end of each folding seat back for a total of (4). Maybe some one with a original bench seat will chime in.

There are some photos here:https://www.chevellestuff.net/1966/i.../int_bench.htm

If you look though all the photo there are a couple that show 4 total. Any the photos of old 66 bench seats showed 4 sometime and then some photos were missing the stops

I think mine are missing on my 67, Iíll have to look.

Tighten it till it strips and back it off a quarter turn.

I see ebay want about $150 a pair for NOS; but how do you know if they are NOS or NOR, they look the same, same stamping. I donít trust them. Then there are the cheep ones from over the seas or the soft seal brand. Then you have Ames Performance that says thereís are the most accurate as to the type of rubber, steel plate and thickness.

Plastic wrapper is NOS; what about bumpers?

That link is for bucket seats, the round ones are for a bench seat.
And with a price like that he should have them for a really long time if not forever.

Respectfully I disagree, folding seats, bench seats fold and also buckets fold. bench and bucket seats used the same rubber stoppers in 1966.
