Those did not come on the 396/375 HP L78 engines

The idle stop solenoid was used on the 396/375 w/ Holley Carb when equiped with the TH400 (not with a manual transmission). Also on the 427/425 and TH400.

The bracket is made of pure unobtanium -- try eBay and be prepared to pay several hundred dollars for one. I looked on eBay - none shown.

The solenoid is scarce, to the tune of $150.00 on eBay. P/N: 1114421 (edit: I see a service replacement solenoid on eBay for 60 + 8 shipping. That is a steal).

Edit: Chicage Corvette Supply has the 2 piece Bracket, Screw, and Solenoid for $1,795.00.

Never mind about CCS, that price was for the 3 duce setup.

You can get a reproduction bracket from one of the corvette parts dealers. I am not sure who i got mine from, but the price wasn't too bad. Especially compared to the original that I bought.

Re: 1969 396/375 idle stop solenoid

The anti-dieseling "Bracket" is P/N: 3959167. This bracket is attached to the intake manifold STUDS on the driver's side of the engine using two lock washers (P/N: 187119) and two nuts (P/N: 120376). NOTE that ALL L78/L72 engines came with the STUDS whether the engine got a manual trans or an automatic. According to my notes, a service replacement "Bracket" carried P/N: 3967426.

The "Solenoid Assembly" carried P/N: 1114418. The Solenoid was held in place by a "Clamp Assembly" with P/N: 3940917. The "Clamp Assembly" was bolted to the "Bracket" by "Bolt" P/N: 121887 and a washer P/N: 606404.

The Engine Harness offshoot was secured to the Valve Covers with "Clip" P/N: 3927330 that clips onto the rear Spark Plug Cables tower on the Valve Cover. A second "Clip," P/N: 367701 is inserted under the forward-most Valve Cover Attachment Bolt.

The "Bracket" might be on the 'Bu, if it is then there won't be a picture until spring. Sorry.

Re: 1969 396/375 idle stop solenoid

Bruce, I do have the "solenoid" & my wiring harness has the connection for one, but I have never seen one. I also have a very complete "67 three deuce" set up that came with my car for an "extra" $50!!! I paid $1850 for the car back in the day, took me two weeks too decide if I wanted to spend the extra $50 !!! Thanks for info, If anyone has photos of the unit as it's mounted, I would appreciate seeing them & the search continues!
Thanks again
Don

Wanna double or maybe even triple your money in that 3x2's set-up?
