I need help on removing my 66 glove box lock

I found this but the photos have disappeared. Can someone help. I have my key but can't seem to find that little hole I am suppose to put a paper clip or a small screw driver in to depress ? Can't seem to find anything online about a 66-67 chevelle glove box lock. Thanks

Re: I need help on removing my 66 glove box lock

I tried to add the pics back into the old post but this site wont allow it for some reason.
Here are the pics again..

See the little push in tab next to the dash?Push that in while gently pulling out on the tumbler, It will only come out a little bit, then push in the hole again and gently pull out on the tumbler, it will come out just a little bit more, do this until the tumbler is all the way out..

I didn't have an Allen wrench big enough to turn the assembly nut off, I used a flat piece of steel to put in and turn it..

Re: I need help on removing my 66 glove box lock

Thanks, thats the hole at the 3:00 position when facing the dash that I tried. I kept pushing in; but not luck. There must be something wrong with my tumbler. I will try again tomorrow, thanks

"I didn't have an Allen wrench big enough to turn the assembly nut off"

Its not an Allen wrench to turn the nut because the nut requires an eight sided input tool! (Allen wrenches are 6 sided)

If you know of a friend with a 3D printer - have him grow one for you

Easier to just use a flat piece of steel to span the inside, I Dont have a friend with a 3d Printer, His wife is a D cup though..
